As I kept receiving messages about being a liberal who needs to shut up... being told I don’t make sense and that I am stupid. I realized something that deep down I already knew.
Racist people won’t change. We have focused for too long on changing people’s views.
But their views don’t need to change. As long as the structural system doesn’t protect racism, people will have to settle for being racist in private.
As long as police officers are charged when they commit senseless crimes and call each other out because they fear an uprising.
As long as society is no longer okay with haven token minorities in their employment because this movement opened their eyes.
As long as racist people feel embarrassed calling 911 when they know no crime is being committed.
Then we will have done our job.
